Cruel Santino Is Back With ‘International Collector / Oz..’

The new singles arrive as the curtain-raiser for his highly anticipated new project, ‘Kings Of The Bounce.’

Cruel Santino has released a two-pack titled ‘International Collector / Oz..’ The new singles arrive as the curtain-raiser for his highly anticipated new project, ‘Kings Of The Bounce,’ which the alte pioneer has been teasing for the past couple of years.

The first single, “International Collector,” which he had previously teased with a snippet, also served as the soundtrack for a recently released trailer that offered fans a first glimpse at the immersive world Cruel Santino has built around this new project. Produced by longtime collaborator Tochi Bedford, the song finds the singer in peak form as he weaves between melodic passages and razor-sharp rap cadences over a bouncy instrumental.

The crisp trailer for the singer’s now-released music video is particularly noteworthy as it serves as another reminder of his hugely imaginative vision as a director, blending surrealist imagery with gaming and fashion influences to create a richly textured universe that this new era is set in. The trailer has already spawned several fan theories, predicting this new arc might be his most cinematic yet and trying to unravel how the cryptic First Heaven Corp ties into the larger Subaru World that he first brought to life in 2022.

The two-pack’s second single, Oz,features a similarly bubbly beat courtesy of Vic Reagan and a menacing guest verse from rapper Jeriq. Both singles hint at the sonic direction the new project will take and rev up anticipation for the long-awaited follow-up to ‘Subaru Boys: FINAL HEAVEN.’

Even though this latest arc of his career has been four years in the making, he has managed to keep his fans satiated with a couple of drops, including the ‘Trilogy’ two-pack with producer Vic Reagan, who appears to be one of the major architects of this new sonic world the singer has built and the conceptual Subaru Live Radio, which features a lot of unreleased originals and flips of popular tracks.

His interactive livestreams have kept him in conversation as well. The streams have featured names like Davido, Slawn, Zerry DL and Jeriq, but more importantly, they have also served as a platform for emerging talents like Mavo, Zaylevelten and Luwa.Mp4 long before they broke into wider consciousness, reinforcing his reputation as not just an artist but a tastemaker with a keen eye for the next wave of alternative music.

He’s also remained active with a couple of collaborations like “Attack,” off Adekunle Gold’s latest album and Genio Bambino’s “Wait.” But with ‘International Collector / Oz,’ the focus shifts back to his own universe, setting the stage for what could be his most ambitious project yet.
