For the past year, VVS Lagos has established itself as one of Africa’s most ambitious creative ecosystems, bringing together fashion, music, film, art and technology under one banner. That vision finds its loudest expression yet with the release of ‘VVS: The Descendants,’ a collaborative album that transforms the spirit of the VVS movement into music. 

Rather than assembling artists for the sake of a compilation, ‘The Descendants‘ captures what happens when a generation of creatives, each with distinct worlds, sounds and stories, create from a shared belief that Africa’s future is collaborative. 

The project features an expansive cast of artists including Jeriq, Prettyboy D-O, Trinidad James, CelebOniel, Sir Raheem, Blonde, Wavy The Creator, Firefly, Solis, Khevna, alongside a new wave of voices shaping the future of African music. Together, they deliver a body of work that moves fluidly between rap, alternative music, Afrobeats and experimental sounds without ever losing its centre 

Its title reflects a generation inheriting Africa’s creative momentum while refusing to be confined by it. These artists are descendants of rich musical traditions, but they are equally architects of what comes next. Their music draws from the streets of Lagos, the cadence of the East, the influence of the diaspora and the limitless possibilities of an increasingly connected creative world.
