J.Derobie was one of the top picks off the first wave of Mr Eazi’s emPawa100 initiative, which saw the rise of the prolific Joeboy. The music video for the Ghanaian singer’s submission, “Poverty”, has also garnered over a million views on YouTube, while the song’s remix featured Jamaican dancehall veteran, Popcaan.
In September, J.Derobie released his sophomore single, “Odo Bra”, a sprite cut where he professes undying love to his partner. “I fit use my head break coconut for you”, he assures, over the bouncy Killertunes-produced beat. To circle our attention back, he’s just shared the music video for “Odo Bra”, and it’s just as charming as the romantic song.
The music video directed by Babs is set at a shanty, and while there are lively shots of J.Derobie miming his set, the main plot sees the singer and his love interest sharing flirtatious gazes during the daytime. By nighttime, shots of them in intimate poses closes out the video, resolving the tension that had been building all along.
