From the ever-evolving nucleus of Africa’s most experimental creative collective, VVS Lagos returns with “Love Is War,” the second single off their forthcoming ‘Descendants’ project. It is a record dissolving the fragile boundary between affection and adversity, softness and survival, intimacy and instinct, following the frenetic pace of “Unlimited,” the project’s first single. 

The new single pairs the genre-fluid precision of Minz and the deeply textured, spiritually grounded cadence of Wizard Chan, forging a record that feels less like a collaboration and more like a negotiation between heartbeats. 

Produced with deliberate restraint and atmospheric weight, “Love Is War” situates itself in a liminal sonic space where Afropop polish meets raw, South-South storytelling, and where romance is not a theme but a battlefield. Minz glides through the record with melodic clarity, offering a perspective shaped by longing, distance, and emotional calculus. Wizard Chan counters with his signature riverine cadence, grounding the record in a truth that feels both ancestral and immediate.
