The innate political consciousness of Hip-hop took new strides at the release of Falz’s new album, ‘Moral Instruction’. Over the course of his career, now spanning 4 projects, Falz’s public appeal has grown off his humorous and often charming takes on social issues. His new album however takes a more serious approach with Fela inspired gravitas, criticizing social norms and negligent powers.
He just released an 8-minute clip, “Moral Instruction: The Curriculum”, rendered in black and white monochrome as if to highlight the severity of his message. The video is set in a secondary school where some students abuse their power and bully other students. While the drama ensues, tracks from the album serve as background music, offering some context for the often graphic imagery showing Falz’s bloodied body lying on the ground after getting beat up. “Moral Instruction: The Curriculum” is directed by Prodigeezy and stars Falz, Willis, Chillz, Bolly Lomo, Sess, Dauda and more.
