MR P CONTINUES HIS ROMANTIC RUN WITH NEW SINGLE “I LOVE YOU BECAUSE”

Where its predecessor captured the instant pull of seeing someone, “I Love You Because” is concerned with the aftermath of fascination.

Mr. P continues into a new chapter of romance with the release of “I Love You Because.”  Arriving as a natural follow-up to his recent energetic viral single, “I Can’t Look Away,” this new record moves the story of attraction beyond its first spark.

Where its predecessor captured the instant pull of seeing someone who commands your attention, “I Love You Because” is concerned with what happens after the fascination settles: the qualities, emotions and intimate details that turn attraction into something deeper.

It is a warmer and more openly affectionate performance from Mr. P, who approaches the subject with the melodic ease and emotional directness that have long shaped his relationship with his audience. Rather than overcomplicating the sentiment, he builds the song around a simple but enduring idea: love often becomes most convincing when you can name the reasons a person matters.

The record plays like an ode to the small things: the character, presence, memories and emotional comfort that make one person feel irreplaceable. It is personal enough to sound like a direct declaration, but broad enough for listeners to attach their own relationships and experiences to it.

There is also a clear sense of continuity in Mr. P’s recent releases. “I Can’t Look Away” and “I Love You Because” work almost like adjoining chapters in the same romantic narrative. The first is driven by chemistry and the magnetic pull of desire; the second asks a more intimate question: what makes that connection worth holding on to?

For an artist whose career has repeatedly moved between high-energy pop records, dancefloor instincts and emotionally driven songwriting, “I Love You Because” finds Mr. P comfortably occupying the latter space. It is affectionate without becoming overly sentimental, celebratory without losing intimacy, and another indication that his current musical run is being shaped around romance not simply as a theme, but as an unfolding story.

As a solo artist, Mr. P has continued to evolve his artistry, building a catalog defined by infectious melodies, dynamic performances, and a seamless blend of Afropop, R&B, and contemporary African sounds. His acclaimed  solo debut album, ‘The Prodigal,’ showcased his versatility and featured collaborations with some of Africa’s biggest stars, including Tiwa Savage, Simi, Teni, and Wande Coal, alongside international acts such as Tamar Braxton and Mohombi.
