GoodGirl LA, Dami Oniru & more to feature on compilation project, ‘Sounds From The Basement Gig’
An extension of the monthly concert series for emerging artists
An extension of the monthly concert series for emerging artists
The Nigerian music space is still very reliant on fees from live shows, and up-and-coming artists are always in need of performance platforms which showcase their abilities to a wider audience. For the last three years, The Basement Gig has managed to do this, offering a long list of less popular artists a stage to display their craft to willing audiences. The concert series features three headlining artists every month, with talented artists like Dapo Tuburna, Remy Baggins and Sir Dauda gracing the stage at previous editions.
The Basement Gig is turning three years old this month, and in addition to its next edition holding this December 12, the organisers are releasing a compilation project, ‘Sounds From The Basement Gig’, which will feature artists who’ve performed on their stage in the past. Scheduled for release on December 10, the 15-track project will feature contributions from GoodGirl LA, Dami Oniru, Boybreed, Alpha Ojini and many more artists. In the twitter thread announcing ‘SFTBG’, the organisers cited the project as an avenue to add value to the careers of our performers, new & emerging artistes within their reach.
Check out the tracklist for the compilation project below.
