Nigerian singer and songwriter Caleboniel is exploring the pressures of ambition, relationships, and personal change on his new three-track project, ‘Sign of the Times.’ Released on October 28, 2026, the project brings together “Human,” “Move” and “No Stains,” reflecting on the experiences that shape how people deal with life’s uncertainties.
Opening the project, “Human” examines the pressure of trying to meet family expectations while pursuing personal ambitions. Caleboniel considers the frustration of working towards a better future without having much to show for it, particularly for young Nigerians navigating the expectations that come with adulthood. He also touches on the effects of experiencing repeated loss, offering a reminder to be patient with oneself through difficult periods.
On “Move,” the focus shifts to relationships and the process of letting go. The song explores the difficulty of accepting that something has ended and finding a way to move beyond the memories and thoughts that keep pulling someone back. With production by 9roovy and additional vocals from suurshi, Caleboniel approaches the subject through the experience of adjusting to life after a relationship.
The final track, “No Stains,” considers the possibilities that can come from unexpected changes. Rather than dwelling on situations that do not go as planned, Caleboniel reflects on the chance to find new experiences and creative direction in them. Also produced by 9roovy, the song brings the project to a close with a focus on accepting change and finding a way forward.
Written by Caleboniel, with Ganiyu handling mixing and mastering across all three tracks, ‘Sign of the Times’ brings together different experiences of pressure, loss and change. Through the project, he reflects on the challenges of moving through uncertain periods while learning to make peace with the things that cannot always be controlled.
