It’s the season of love and “Ninety-Nine” is emblematic of the simplified Afropop-fusion sound Wizkid and Burna Boy championed all last year. It captures a core emotion in a few lines, leaving the ambience to do the rest of the work. In addition to a wine-friendly mellow production, a verse from DMW’s Dremo adds another layer of genre-blending to the track.
